So surprised to read this that the animation, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, was originally started as a science fiction from 1965 to 1966 serialized in ages of 13-18 student magazine! That's such a high level from my next book.
It has been reinterpreted in other media many times. Before this 2006 anime film, there was an internationally famous 1983 live-action movie! So cool - and I found the specific relevant products all on Amazon.com for you!
a 1983 live-action romance film directed by Nobuhiko Εbayashi;
a 2006 Hosoda Edition directed by Mamoru Hosoda;
And, a latest updated movie Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time directed by Masaaki Taniguchi.
And, the originally first published novel by Yusutaka Tsutsui was first published in English translation by the British publisher Alma Books in a translation by David James Karashima! The co-authored and bilingual edition The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. See, it's totally possible to have a Japanese book as a non-Japanese person!
There is now an Animestyle Archive Story Board Book of Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
There is even a Chinese edition with this story of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time ! Is this Chinese edition only available for the US readers? And a Korean edition! Are their buyer markets really that big that these two editions of this product seem already out of stock?
Gosh- Lex, and MIT, it is time to start a translation project today- should have posted this earlier but I'll take it as my gero paved the path for my presence π♀️π§♀️π♀️
